Analysis of transcription factor (TF) networks
Transcription factors will be characterized using functional and computational approaches to build gene regulatory networks operating during early vertebrate embryogenesis. Gene-regulatory sequences will be linked with permissive chromatin state to transcription factor binding sites in both Xenopus and zebrafish embryos. Regulatory modules containing specific motifs will be identified and validated. Finally, models of high-confidence GRNs that operate during development will be generated, which can be used to identify developmentally important mutations associated with human diseases.
