Models for human health
To exploit the powerful vertebrate embryo models for the benefit of human health, DevCom will generate four different animal models that will exploit the GRN information on cis-regulatory elements and transcription factor networks. These approaches involve perturbation of embryonic development followed by transcriptomic profiling. The interpretation of these perturbations will benefit from gained knowledge on cis-regulatory elements and transcription factor networks, and conversely, the perturbation-induced transcriptomic changes will be used to test and validate gene-regulatory networks. The models that will be generated are focused on cognitive development disorder, heart failure, cancer and environmental stressors.
