To bridge the gap of training, knowledge and skills between the disciplines of developmental and computational biology, the DevCom consortium has been established by a group of European research institutes and industrial partners. The mission of DevCom is to train a new generation of promising scientists to bridge the gap between developmental and computational biology, and to prepare this generation for the emerging field of “New Biology” in which systems-level and quantitative approaches are fully integrated in the analysis of profound and complex scientific problems related to pluripotency and differentiation.
The DevCom Research Programme has been designed to facilitate and reward a steady flow of data and resources between the different sub-programmes and between groups within a sub-programme, fostering collaboration and exchange among the DevCom members. The consortium is endowed with a rich spectrum of complementary expertise, which forms the backdrop for collaboration.
